A keen mountaineer with a long history of active involvement in UK Mountain Rescue in various roles including Team Leader, Advance First Aid and Search Management. As training officer for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation developed and ran training for a busy rescue team of 45 people operating in North Wales. Joined OVMRO in 1981 and have been an active member since that date. Participated in large number of rescues (over 100 in last 3 years alone).
Team Leader: 1999 to present. Responsible for organising and running search and rescue operations for the team, working with other emergency agencies
Training Officer 2002-2007. Training provider at team level for a range of search and rescue activities including High Angle Technical Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, First Aid, Helicopter skills and stretcher handling skills. Regional, National and International Level training provider in Search Management.
2007 to date: Outreach Organisation – instructor involved with teaching swiftwater rescue, rope rescue, search management and Urban Search and Rescue course to UK Fire and Rescue Services
