Water Courses
We are able to offer a variety of water based courses. These can form part of a training package for our clients or be offered as a one off training course for individuals and groups. If individuals would like to complete water training course for dog handlers it is a requirement for health and safety that individuals complete a minimum of power boat 2 and first responder. These Courses can be provided and or incorporated into a bespoke programme including the following;
Water Awareness Course
A one day classroom based course designed to provide personnel who may be working near water with sufficient knowledge to be aware of the hazards created by this environment and develop an understanding of water rescue techniques
Basic Water First Responder
This is a one day course designed for personnel who may be deployed to a basic (still) water environment where they may be required to undertake rescues.
Swiftwater First Responder
Is a one day course designed for personnel who may be deployed near a swiftwater environment, but would not necessarily be undertaking rescue work themselves.
White-Water Rescue Technician (WRT)
This is a three-day course designed for the Outdoor Professional with existing river experience to provide you with the necessary skills to perform rescues in white-water river situations. It is both classroom and river-based and will include:
This training course is intended for those who will be required to carry out rescues in a Swiftwater & flood environment – Emergency Services personnel, Mountain Rescue Teams etc. The course is based on the philosophy of self-protection and application of low to high risk solutions.
Swift Water Rescue Technician Unit 1 (SRT UNIT 1)
This is a four day course designed to provide you with the necessary skills to perform rescues in a swiftwater & flood environment. It is both classroom and river-based and will include:

Powerboat Level 2
First day will be an introduction to water and the boats being used. There will be several hours of theory work required ashore. The remainder of the theory work will be carried out through the course while afloat. Areas covered include launch and recovery, boat handling under way, slow maneuvers dealing with disabled craft and high speed maneuvers.
